Oil collects dirt and that dirt will eventually gum up the firing pin. I'd pull the Security 9 apart and re clean the channel before I'd send it back to Ruger.

But it has a hammer, which in my opinion is a good thing. But the Security 9 is a very functional pistol. Accuracy is not quite as good as the American Pistol, but it is adequate. I like the trigger. I hate the sights, probably spend the $77 and get a proper set of steel sights from Ruger.
