The m11-a1 is based off the 229. The difference between this and the 229 is the m11 has an upgraded trigger, no rail, phosphate coated internals, and sig night light sights. From what I understand this gun is based off an older 228 model that is long since discontinued. The 226 is a bit longer. The 226 equivalent of this gun is the 226 navy.The original P228 has an almost cult following among Sig fans, due it being discontinued. Someone at Sig thought putting P228 grips on the M11-A1 would lend it some street cred.
